Now he was looking for a script. So he formed the Phalke Film Company with some enthusiastic people with him. In 1913, “Raja Harishchandra” became the first Hindi film. He himself directed this film. For this Dada learned photography.

Learned the art of making film sets. All the arts of theater were molded into films. It was a very difficult task for him to get the actors to act, to call dialogues. Dada also learned the nuances of how film distribution is done.

Produced 95 films and 26 short films like “Raja Harishchandra” “Ram Vanvas” “Nal Damayanti” “Bhasmasura Mohini” “Lanka Dahan” “Krishna Janma” “Gangaavataran” “Parshuram” etc.

During his 19 years of filmmaking, Dada made many efforts in the field of film. In 1913, she cast an actress for the first time; Because at that time the profession of acting was taboo for women. Men used to play the role of women. Before this silent films were made.

Dada (Dadasaheb Phalke) gave voice in the films. In 1930, he left the work of film production. To bring excellence in films, Dada went abroad to get training for all types of techniques ranging from camera techniques, photography techniques. For this he also suffered financial burden. Dada showed the right path to the upcoming filmmakers.

Dadasaheb Phalke made many new changes in the subject and trick photography of the films to show the miraculous scenes of the mythological film. Dadasaheb Phalke is credited for moving from silent films to talking films. Dada produced India’s first indigenous feature film. In fact, he is the father of films. Announced an award named “Dada Saheb Phalke” for his invaluable contribution in the field of film.

This award is presented by the President of India himself by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is the biggest and most honorable award in the film sector. This award is given for all kinds of distinguished and remarkable contribution in the field of film. In this award, an amount of Rs 2 lakh and a Swarna Kamal is given. It is provided since 1970. So far it has been given to more than 40 persons.
