Anurag Basu Birth and Education
Anurag Basu was born in a middle-class Bengali family in Bhilai city of Chhattisgarh. His father Subroto Bose worked in Bhilai Steel Plant while mother Deepshikha Bose was a housewife. Basu grew up watching his father’s theater company “Abhiyan” since childhood. He completed his early education from BSP Senior Secondary School in Bhilai itself. After this, B.Sc in Physics from Mumbai University. degree obtained. During this time he also took education in cinematography from FTII. During college, he got a chance to become an assistant in many TV serials.
Basu’s TV career
Basu started his TV career when he was only 20 years old. He first worked as an assistant director for the serial Tara, which was broadcast on Doordarshan in 1994. Six months later, he was given the task of directing a further 712 episodes. Basu directed daily soaps to thriller serials, in which there were serials like Saturday Suspense, Awijk Dastaan and X-Zone.

The first work in films in Basu was first done as an extra actor in the film Dalal in 1993.
